Why
to go
Alpine
Meadows offers phenomenal views of Lake Tahoe and the high
Sierra region. It has an extensive ski area naturally divided
into advanced, intermediate and beginner terrain, 25% beginner,
40% intermediate and 35% advanced.
The
intermediate and beginner skiers and boarders have many
options with family ski zones and wide open groomed trails
as well as tree lined winding tracks. The advanced have
the options of waist deep powder tours through the trees
as well as the Sherwood Bowl area offering the feeling of
‘out of bounds’ skiing and boarding whilst still
being easily accessible.
One of the great things about Alpine Meadows is that it
is quiet during the week and not too busy on the weekends.
Even on busy weekends the 14 efficient lifts and high-speed
6-passenger chair ensures the crowds move quickly.
There is no accommodation available on mountain but it has
a day lodge which caters for all snow needs as well as on
mountain restaurants. being so close to Tahoe City many
people chose to stay there.
Do
not miss
Advanced skiers and boarders will love the fresh deep powder
found in the black diamond area of SunBowl and CB Chute
on the left of the Sherwood Express chair. Head to the Park
and Pipe for some challenging hits and rails.
Getting there and around
Located just next door to Squaw Valley USA, six miles Northwest
of Tahoe City, shuttle buses run to and from Tahoe City
as well as other lake surrounding areas. There is a very
large day parking lot with a free shuttle, which takes you
to lift base. 45 miles west of Reno Nevada and 200 miles
East of San Francisco,

Get out early on powder days and hike to the bowls for
some great inbounds powder turns.
