ALPINE MEADOWS

Why to go

Alpine Meadows offers phenomenal views of Lake Tahoe and the high Sierra region. It has an extensive ski area naturally divided into advanced, intermediate and beginner terrain, 25% beginner, 40% intermediate and 35% advanced.

The intermediate and beginner skiers and boarders have many options with family ski zones and wide open groomed trails as well as tree lined winding tracks. The advanced have the options of waist deep powder tours through the trees as well as the Sherwood Bowl area offering the feeling of ‘out of bounds’ skiing and boarding whilst still being easily accessible.

One of the great things about Alpine Meadows is that it is quiet during the week and not too busy on the weekends. Even on busy weekends the 14 efficient lifts and high-speed 6-passenger chair ensures the crowds move quickly.

There is no accommodation available on mountain but it has a day lodge which caters for all snow needs as well as on mountain restaurants. being so close to Tahoe City many people chose to stay there.

Do not miss

Advanced skiers and boarders will love the fresh deep powder found in the black diamond area of SunBowl and CB Chute on the left of the Sherwood Express chair. Head to the Park and Pipe for some challenging hits and rails.
