Spread across 3 mountains and 3 villages Flims Laax
Falera, Switzerland (marketed as the Alpenarena) is
one of the largest and most comprehensive interconnected
resorts of the Alps. The resorts consist of mainly
long intermediate cruising runs set amongst breathtaking
scenery, but also provides good steeps and off piste
terrain for ski and snowboard enthusiasts.
The
town of Flims is the main hub of activity, with Laax
being the most central for all mountain access and
Falera mainly existing as a small rural community.
Do not miss
A trip The Vorlab Glacier will take at least 2 cable
car rides, a gondola and a T-Bar and some time to
reach, but it is worth it for the views and the long
runs back.
One of Europe’s most famous & extensive
half pipe and terrain park areas at the top of Crap
Sogn Gion.
Riders Palace is the place to party with the Bar in
the reception area open 24 hours and a popular nightclub
featuring Europe’s best DJs in the basement.
Take a run down to the village of Falera and stroll
through the quiet streets of the traditional Swiss
alpine village.
Getting there
Alpenarena is about 130km south of Zurich, about 2
½ hours drive from Zurich Airport
By
train from Zurich takes about 2½ hours. Get
off the train at Chur then catch the bus to the ski
area (all included in the train ticket)
Hot Tip
Buses between the resorts stop early in the evening,
so plan ahead. (Taxis are available)
