The birthplace of winter sports holidays, St.Moritz
has developed into an extensive resort with 3 main
areas Corviglia, Corvatsch and the Diavolezza Glacier
area covered by the Engadin ski pass. Each separate
area provides terrain to satisfy all abilities and
is connected by an efficient bus service. Locals say
the sun shines on average 322 days a year while maintaining
an impressive snow record due to its high altitude.
In winter the town overlooks its frozen lake a constant
focus for countless activities, including horse and
greyhound racing, golf, cricket, major polo competitions
and an enormous cross country race.

Opened in 1904 the Olympia bobsled track today is
the only natural track in the world. Open from December
until March it is active daily with competitions,
training and tourists who can pay to be steered down
at breakneck speeds by a professional sled crew.
In fresh snow the chutes of Corviglia provide experts
tight technical turns opening into an wide powder
fields.

Getting there
Fly directly into St Moritz’s airport, Airport
Samedan, from the major airports of Zurich, Milan
and Geneva.
By car from Zurich it is 200km (3 hours), from Milan
180km (3 hours). Munich is 300km (4 hours)
Train is a great way to get to St Moritz with connections
from across Europe.
Hot Tip
Well know as a destination for the rich and famous,
the resort is equally accommodating to those on a
budget with some great deals available in off peak.
