Steamboat
Why
to go
Known as “Ski Town USA” and for its “champagne
powder”, Steamboat consists of two town areas,
the western style cowboy downtown area and the modern
condo area at the base of the resort. Both are just
a few minutes apart connected by an efficient free
bus service. There are many dining options and the
nightlife in both sections varies between live music
and relaxed sports bars.
The
terrain across 5 mountains, the 2nd largest area in
Colorado, provides a great deal of variety for all standards.
Long wide groomers are complimented by steep mogul courses
and endless tree sections.
For the past 90 years Steamboat has had an annual winter
carnival which is a week long party. A great week to
see Steamboat. Activities include for the “skijoring”
race, where the main street downtown is covered in snow
and skiers are pulled by horses through a slalom course.
Steamboat
Springs has produced more Olympians than any other town
in America, 54 in total and has a strong freestyle presence
with permanent mogul and aerials training facilities.
The first class terrain park boasts Mavericks the longest
pipe on the continent.
Do not miss
The tree skiing is some of the best in the world, give

Hot Tip
On powder mornings there can be a big rush for the gondola
and the upper mountain areas. If the line is long take
the christies chairs for some nice quiet powdery topped
groomers.
