VAIL
Why
to go
The most famous resort in North America with over
5000 acres of terrain to explore, including the legendary
back bowls area covering more than 6 miles across
and offering a diverse terrain paradise.
Not
to be forgotten the Vail front side offers some impressive
steep and fast groomed runs, open cruisers and is
a mogul lovers heaven.
The
European styled town stretches out along the I-70
highway and is connected by a free bus service, but
can only truly be appreciated on foot. Nightlife in
Vail is busy with a large selection of restaurants,
bars and nightclubs on offer.
Do
not miss
The terrain park is a hub of activity with some of
the best athletes in the world hitting it on a daily
basis.
When the lifts close for the day ride the Eagle Bahn
Gondola to Adventure Ridge at the mountain top for
activities including ice skating, tube park, snow
bikes, snowmobile rides and dining.
The back bowls – too many options to list but
not a bad turn to be had.
From early February onwards there are free concerts
held on Wednesday nights in the village.
Getting there
Fly directly into Vail/Eagle County Airport. Located
30 minutes from the resort. By car 100 miles west
of Denver, just follow the I-70 highway. Takes around
2 ½ hours.
Hot Tip
Due to the areas enormous size with the majority of
runs tree lined it can be difficult to get your bearings
and easy to miss some hidden treasures. Take a guided
mountain tour on your first day out to get to know
the mountains secrets a little faster.
With the lure of the back bowls often the front side
can be forgotten and the steep terrain to the far
left can be deserted.
